Summary

People are afraid. Their fear is the result of two things: the specter of civil litigation and their inability or refusal to understand and economics and statistics.

Theft is too easy to be illegal.

There’s no such thing as a rip-off.

Antitrust is crap. Monopoly should not be illegal.

By default, government should be treated as though it is corrupt. This includes every aspect of government. Every branch, every agency, every agent, and every officer. This is particularly true of law enforcement. It may very well be that individuals within the government are not corrupt. I hope that’s true, but I’m not about to adopt that as my default position.

I might change my mind on these things. After all, I used to think Single Malt Scotch was crap.
